Substring rules — read this twice
Section titled “Substring rules — read this twice”If your message contains a banned word, you die. Banned cat kills
category. Banned the kills weather. There is no plural exemption, no
“I was quoting someone,” no mercy.
Edits count too: editing an old message into a banned word kills you today.
Deaths are silent. No announcement. You’ll know because you can no longer speak — anywhere, including voice. You get a private tombstone from Shush, and #graveyard opens to you: the channel of the fallen, where the dead talk freely among themselves.
Coming back from the dead
Section titled “Coming back from the dead”/redeem buyback— spend points. The price climbs with every death this round, and it comes out of your score. Survival is cheaper than resurrection./redeem gauntlet— compose a plea of 40+ words in 10 minutes where nothing is lethal under current substring rules. Fail and you wait 24 hours to try again.- Community vote — sometimes Management lets the living vote on your soul.

The Machine’s Favor
Section titled “The Machine’s Favor”Every week the machine chooses. Someone wakes Blessed — their words carry pictures and links while everyone else stays plaintext. Someone wakes Cursed — no reactions, no borrowed emoji, nothing but bare words. Seven days later the favor moves on. You cannot apply. You cannot decline.
The laws
Section titled “The laws”Eight house rules govern the server — the only words that can never be banned. The short version: be kind, keep it PG-13, no slurs or harassment (no second chances), no spam, no personal info, no evading the Shush with alts or workarounds, purchases are 18+ and cosmetic only, and Management’s word is final. Losing gracefully is the brand.
The machine remembers which words you use, by day, to choose its bans and crown Patient Zero. It does not store your messages.
