The Zombie Apocalypse

On the 15th of every month at midnight UTC, the graveyard cracks open. For seven days (days 15–21), the dead may rise as Zombies — allowed back into #shushchat under the inverted law:

Every word a zombie types must be forbidden — a word already on the kill-list. The dead speak only in forbidden tongues.

React 🧟 to the gate message pinned in #zombie-briefing during an active Apocalypse. That’s the only way back into the arena that week. Decline and you sit out the apocalypse — but the grave still opens at round’s end regardless.

Zombies hunt the living by baiting them into echoing banned words. Every time a living player falls during the apocalypse, the last zombies who spoke in #shushchat before they died earn 40 points each — up to 5 zombies, within the last 10 minutes, no splitting. Crowd the arena; the more you speak, the more you cash in when someone slips.

The kill-list only grows, so late-week zombies feast: early in the month the horde rises lean, but by the final days the banned list is fat and the living are trapped.

If 90% of active players end up dead, every zombie is fully restored — and their victims stay buried.

One clean word — a single living syllable — and a zombie is damned. No warning, no second chance. Purgatory claims you immediately: you can see and speak only in #purgatory, and nothing gets you out before round’s end. Buyback, gauntlet, and community vote are all refused. The round-end ceremony frees everyone.

When the apocalypse closes on day 22, the remaining living play out the rest of the month under the heaviest ban pressure of the round. Survive to the final whistle and a permanent champion role is yours.
